CLASS PROPHECY OF LNHS BATCH 2005

Seven in the morning is our office hour. It’s now 6:50 A.M. so we are in a hurry. We immediately left our condo unit and drive our Jaguar. Thanks God! We reached our office at the top of a 50-storey building on time.

It’s been two decades now since we left Philippines. After graduating high school, we luckily passed a scholarship sponsored by American writers. For four years, they financed our studies until we graduated. We decided to stay and work as writers in their company printing books, novels, and magazines. For six years we give our best and dedication on our job. Our hard works bought us to fame and give honor to our country. We had received a lot of awards. In the year 2013, we were given a Nobel Prize for being the youngest writers who had contributed much to Modern Literature writing almost 802 best-selling novels printed in every known language. One of these was the novel; “The Burning Heart” which grossed $15.5M worldwide. It was adapted to film with MICHELLE VIBAR, now a Hollywood star and has been awarded an Oscar Award for Best Actress.

It was directed by the world most celebrated “Director of all Directors” and a comedian, ALLAN RAYTERAN.
Although we live in the ‘World of Fame’ we still miss our country, our family, friends, teachers and especially our high school classmates. We always remember those moments when we laugh, cry and even scream out our emotions.
Probably a simple reunion will do to ease our loneliness. But the big question is; “When could that be?”

It became our habit to read the newspaper named “International Daily Inquirer” during break time. We are very surprise as we saw the smiling face of ENGR. SHIELA MAUREEN PEŃAFIEL.

She led the construction of the longest bridge connecting Philippines and Taiwan with the help of her architect ARIES RENEE LORINO. Beside her is ATTY. ERROL OCAMPO who recently topped the international bar exam for lawyers. The caption says they are announcing their engagement to be held at the Royal Resort, owned by the business tycoon MAY ROSOPA. The grand engagement is scheduled next week.

“Mila! Perhaps this is the best time for a reunion?”
“Yes Jane you’re right. Besides, I’m terribly missing my family.”
We immediately take a leave and book a flight to the Philippines. At 12:00 noon we are already starving so we look for a restaurant. Our eyes catch McCravey NY. McCravey NY is the main branch of a Food Chain serving Filipino cuisine. We are enjoying our food when we are approached by KRISTINE JOY ATIENZA, the owner of McCravey.  We chatted while eating.
She told us that JOE-BREN CONSUELO is now a renowned International Interior Designer. He designed Princess Chea’s mansion at Italy and that of MARIA CRISELDA OXIMA’s five seven-star hotels located at the Philippines, Japan, Hongkong, France and San Diego.
In the middle of our conversation, a familiar figure move towards us with a big smile. We are ashamed when we didn’t immediately recognized International Super Model JENNYLYN BANGA. She’s now in New York for the shooting of her next shampoo commercial.
Though we like to talk more, time is running and we still have to prepare our things for the flight. We bid our goodbyes and promise to see each other again in the party.

As we packed our things Mila turned on the television. We are astonished after seeing the Korina Sanchez of our batch, MA. VANESSA BALANA anchoring her top rating show;  ‘The Globe Tonight’ with JERNIEL ANTHONY CHAN and JOHNSON RODRIGO as field reporters. Vanessa is also the owner of International Broadcasting Corporation (IBC).
After the news, we changed it to the Discovery Channel. We are stunned when we saw JAMSHIELA CRYSTAL BREQUILLO and SAM KRISTIAN RIŃON being interviewed by well-known and multi-awarded broadcaster HAZEL SUMADERO. The two discovered the 11th planet on the solar system, the BRE’ŃON.

I accidentally trip on the remote control and the channel is changed to a live basketball game. The two teams competing are the Philippines and America. The spectacular moves, rebounds, dribbles and three points of RICHARD HENRY REAL with the help of ROBERTO CASTILLO, ANGELO PONTING, MARK GINO PATANAO and GINO ALFONSO QUIAMNO win the game in favour of the Philippines.

We wake up early. Mixed emotions filled our hearts. Our minds are full of “what ifs?”

The TOMOLINES is a really cool and comfortable ride. It is owned by FLYN ERIC CAMBUSA, now a multi-millionaire businessman who also founded The Sketches Shoes Company.

When the plane took off we’ve seen again the ‘Amazing House’ of Architect MAY DAISYREE BROJAN above a European mountain. Atop it looks like an unfound castle.

Old acquaintances tapped us at the back and shouted “Mila! Jane!” They are RICHELLE ANN REPOLLES and ANA ELEANOR PRECONES with their ever-sweet faces. Richelle is now a Flight Attendant speaking fluently five languages; English, French, Spanish, Mandarin and Tagalog.
Ana on the other hand is now a super-model of gowns and jewelries of the international clothing line owned by designer MELIZA LLASOS, the lady with gifted hands.
They told us that AARON BROMA, now a Chemist discovered a new element called Bromium, Bm in symbol.

“Oh really?!” exclaimed by a man at the back seat. We look back and see Sports Commissioner ROBERT RAŃOSA. With him is the Philippine Team composed of LEMUEL GALVAN, RICHARD VELASCO, ARNEL QUIDEP, ALVIN PANTAN, FILIPINAS ORAN, and  MYLENE JOY OLARTE for Volleyball; ERNESTO ALIM JR., JOHN EPHRAIM NABUR, JOHN MATIAS , SIMOUN KEVIN RIŃON and ELYGENE TANGUIN for Sepak Takraw;  JEROME MARTINEZ, JENNY ANN OLAVIAGA and EDEN JOY ESPIRITU for Badminton; and MELANIE MENDOZA for Gymnastics.
He proudly told us that the Philippines was the over-all champion in the recently held World Olympics. We also learned from him that RAYMUND BONDE recently won the Mr. Body Form International after almost two years of work-out on his gym.

We are very absorbed in our conversation that we didn’t notice that we’re nearly to take off. The plane landed at NANG Airport, in honor of Engr. JONAH TABIOS, a Guinness Book record holder for constructing the highest skyscraper in the world.

As we stepped down, we saw a melee of people waiting for the Philippine Team. They are led by SEN. ARIES ATIENZA, the youngest senator garnering a 75% of votes last election. As a Congressman he authored a Peace Act unifying the Philippines which made him popular in Asia and around the world.
The security is tight; GEN. ALEJO HILARIO of AFP is there with some police officers like ROWELL MELGAR, FERDINAND PALACIO, JEROME REALCO, RODEL TORDECILLA, JAY-AR REMON, RHEYNAN BONUS and JAYBE BUSTAMANTE.
Alejo recognized us immediately. He lead us to the parking lot where he’s ‘Hot Wheel Car’ is parked. He commanded one of the police officer to accompany us.

The ‘Hot Wheel Car ‘is like an extravagant mini-house plus the speed. The police officer informed us that it was designed by the forever-science genius MELVIN SINSON.

Mila turned on the television inside the car and we saw the cute face of CYNTHIA DE CHAVEZ on the screen. She’s hosting the no.1 educational talk show in Asia.

The guests are the Math wizards FRANCIA GARCIA and GRETCHEN CODIA who are now both International CPA’s.

A sparkling variety show comes next. The bubbly moves of WINNER CHAVEZ, JETHRO RELLORA, CEDRICK DELA FUENTE, KIM MOSES LOPEZ, JEFFERSON MATIAS, JEFFREY FLORANZA, EULA SISON, BIANCA MARIE ROBLES and MARGIE CAŃAVERAL added color to the show. A deafening applause followed when divas FELIZA STAR UDELL, GLAIZA GLAVAN, & SARAH GRACE TAMARIS sang their favourite love songs.

We decided that we must check in first in a Hotel before going back to Ligao. The police officer accompanying us suggested a place and we agreed. On our way, we pass huge billboards of JESSEL REPUBLICA, the model of Moonsilk Products.
Beside it is the billboard of MARVICK LIM, the model of Camay Soap. In a not so distant place, a crowd gathered. Our police companion was puzzled so he halted to know what the commotion is about. We come with him and burst in a half shame, half amazed laughter upon realizing that it’s just a free Medical Mission.
It is sponsored by WHO president CHARLOU NATHALIE SACRIZ, a Harvard graduate heart surgeon. MARIA LOURDES QUEJADA, a psychiatrist lead a group compose of VERGEL VELASCO, a mid-tech with the nurses JONALINE PORTILLO and MA. CARMEN RABE. After a short chat with them we continued our interrupted journey.

We reached the hotel and thank the police who accompany us. As we are about to enter, we notice a museum in front. We have soft spots for antiques and paintings so we decided to throw it a visit.
The displayed obras entitled; ‘The Sunrise after the Dawn’ and ‘The Resonance’ captured our eyes. We wonder who’s their creator and we’re amazed upon knowing that he’s none other than RYAN OLIVER FLOR
As we turn back, we saw him laughing at our reaction. We are equally astonished when he told us he own the museum. He offered us a ride to the LBMRT (Light-Bicol-Manila Railway Transit). As we keep talking he mentioned SALVADOR ALBERTO RICO, now a great physicist who had improved virtual reality and became the 1st man to enter the cyberspace through his mind.

We reached LBMRT in no time and a few hours more, we’re back in our hometown.
LIGAO CITY IN TWO DECADES :-)
MAYON VOLCANO
KAWA- KAWA SCENIC ROUTE
Ligao changed a lot. It became modern--- more industrialized. Nevertheless, the beautiful sceneries, fresh air and green fields which we’ve missed a lot are preserved along with the uniqueness, hospitality and humility of the people.

KAWA KAWA SCENERY

The Big event finally comes. The venue is truly one-of-a-kind.

The ‘Fabulous Diva’, NIŃA FERRER entertained the guests with her enchanting voice.
Her 15th album ‘On the Edge’ was just launched yesterday yet already received a gold-record award. She is accompanied by Pinoy Rapper ROLLY BUENAOBRA.

There are many guests. All our teachers, classmates and batch mates in high school with their partner’s in life and children are here except for one. The center of attraction is MA'AM ASTER MALTO along with her husband and her five genius children.
The mood is so happy where everybody is talking as if there is no tomorrow. Tings from a glass silence the crowd. It is Errol announcing that the ceremony will start in a few minutes. But he is still wrapping his announcement when a rushing limousine snatch everybody’s’ attention. Everyone look at where it stops. And as if in a slow-motion, a handsome (ehemm!), good-looking guy with Billy Crawford’s smile came out saying; “Sorry I’m late!”
We are so lucky to have this guy. We thought he couldn’t come because of he just flew yesterday to Europe to receive his second Nobel Prize for Mathematics for discovering shortcuts in solving Trigonometry and Algebra problems. He made the D’ ian Coordinate Plane of Trigonometric Functions. He founded PMSF (Philippine Math School Foundation), a school sponsoring the education of Math wizards from pre-school to college. Who is he? He is none other than IAN CHRISTIAN PEŃAFIEL, a Harvard graduate in BS in Math and Physics and who is quoted by the media as ‘The Walking Genius’

In a few minutes the ceremony started. Shiela is the most beautiful bride to be. She’s wearing a backless Princess Diana-cut gown with glaze of silver motif. She walked slowly in the aisle like a goddess. Looking at her remind us of the BB Pilipinas beauties; APRIL MARIE IGLESIA, MARRA MIRELLE DUMAGAT, CLARENCE BOBIS and NADIA GO. April and Nadia just won the Miss World and Miss International respectively while Marra and Clarence are the newly crowned Ms Universe and Ms Earth respectively.
It felt so surreal.  After two decades, it seems nothing had changed. We are really happy that we wish the party never ends. But it will. Everything has an end, they say. A beautiful morning will never remain the same since night is always waiting. A lighted candle will never burn forever. They are absolutely right, but one thing is for sure, our friendship will never fade. SPECIAL PERSONS deserve a place in our hearts.

A CHAT WITH JESUS CHRIST

Jesus: Hello. Did you call me?

Man: Called you? No.... Who is this?

Jesus: This is Jesus. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.

Man: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something.

Jesus: What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.

Man: Don’t know. But I can’t find free time. Life has become hectic. It’s rush hour all the time.

Jesus: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.

Man: I understand. But I still can’t figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.

Jesus: Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.

Man: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?

Jesus: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.

Man: Why are we then constantly unhappy?

Jesus: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.

Man: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?

Jesus: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.

Man: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty.

Jesus: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.

Man: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?

Jesus: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.

Man: You mean to say such experience is useful?

Jesus: Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterward.

Man: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can’t we be free from problems?

Jesus: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.

Man: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading.

Jesus: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.

Man: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?

Jesus: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.

Man: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

Jesus: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

Man: What surprises you about people?

Jesus: When they suffer they ask, “why me? When they prosper, they never ask “Why me” Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.

Man: Sometimes I ask, who I am, why am I here. I can’t get the answer.

Jesus: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.

Man: How can I get the best out of life?

Jesus: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

Man: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

Jesus: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.

Man: Thank you for this wonderful chat. I am so happy to start the day with a new sense of inspiration.

Jesus: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don’t believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.

Man: Thank you so much.

Jesus: You are always welcome. Have a good day my friend.

Mothers' Love Bears No Price

A mother was fixing supper for the family.
Her little son came running in quite excitedly.
He handed her a paper with words of writing.
The mother took the paper and started reading.
The boy had written in big handwriting :

“$2 for doing the dish washing.
$ 1 for making my bed this week .
For running errands, $ 2 I seek .
$ 2 for sweeping the floor .
My other friends asked for much more .
$ 5 for my good report card , Mummy! Clearing our garden - $ 3 is due for me.
So Mummy, you can see very clearly
You owe me quite a big sum of money.”

The mother looked at him standing there expectantly. A thousand memories flashed through her mind instantly. She picked up the paper and turned it over.
The words she wrote would make you think and ponder.

“For the 9 months I carried you, growing inside me, NO CHARGE.
For the nights I sat with you, doctored you, prayed for you, NO CHARGE.
For the time and the tears,
And the cost through the years, NO CHARGE.
For the nights filled with dread, and the worries ahead,
NO CHARGE.
For advice and knowledge and the cost of your College,
NO CHARGE.
For the toys, food and clothes and for wiping your nose,
NO CHARGE.
Son, when you add it all up, the full cost of my LOVE is , NO CHARGE.”

When the boy finished reading, tears welled in his eyes.He realized one lesson in life –
Love bears no Price.

To his mother, he said, “I sure do love you, Mummy. I’m sorry.”
Then he took the pen and in big letters, he wrote“ALL PAID FULLY.”

Brothers and Sisters :
There’re more things than just MONEY
To live life meaningfully and joyously.

Blessing or Tragedy?

This story happened some years ago
In Scotland where blue skies meet the meadow.

There were nine children in the Clark family.
Clark and his wife worked and saved diligently.

It was their dream to sail to America one day.
They believed that good fortunes would soon be on their way.

They finally saved enough money to sail across the vast sea.
Reservations on a new ship were made for the whole family.

The family was filled with much anticipation.
Everyone looked forward to life in the new nation.

However, seven days before they were to set sail.
A dog bit the youngest son and he turned very pale.

Rabies was a real possibility.
A doctor treated the boy urgently.

The trip to America could not be made.
Anger and frustration they could hardly take.

The father watched the ship leave without them.
He shed tears and cursed his son and God, “Damn!”

Five days later, news spread of a tragedy.
All Scotland was shocked at this calamity.

A mighty ship had sunk – it was the Titanic.
Had the Clark Family sailed, it would be tragic.

When Clark heard the terrible news, he hugged his son.
He looked to Heaven and thanked the Almighty One.

Brothers and Sisters here and everywhere.
Let us all reflect and ponder with care.

A Blessing, a Tragedy ? … it is hard to see.
There is one CERTAINTY and that’s UNCERTAINTY.

LESSONS FROM A HAND

There was a war between the four Fingers and Thumb of a Hand .
Each was hot arguing : “I am the most important and grand.”

The Thumb said, “I am the Anchor … you know my might ?”
“Without ME, can you ever hold a pen to write?”

“You give the ‘Thumbs-Up’ when things go on well.”
“I’m really LORD over you, need I tell?"

The Index Finger disagreed and shouted loudly,
“I am the KING … I am the Pointer, don’t you all see?”

“I’m The Finger that shows authority.
“I point and command … people obey ME!"

The Middle Finger yelled, “I’m the tallest of you all !”
“Standing beside ME, you all look so lowly and small.”

“I am most elegant, dignified and majestic in look.”
The Middle Finger had never felt so important and good.

“Hey ! Don’t forget an Engagement or Wedding !”
The Ring Finger thundered amidst the great din.

“Rings, a Symbol of Importance, are worn on ME!"
"ME, the Ring Finger is NUMBER ONE certainly."

Not to be outdone, the Little Finger shot out :
“I am the most important,” it gave a loud shout.

“When we all pray, who is the nearest to God?"
“You can see now who is closest to the Lord."

The Hand got annoyed with all this talk.
“Why are you all so petty?” he scolded the lot.

“Everyone of you, small or big, short or long
Is important in every way, Right or Wrong ?”
